The Lace Convertible Jacket

This project was a collaboration with Photographer Thierry Quenette. We worked on a design of a tailored jacket that could have removable pieces to make the garment more verstile. He wanted to have a jacket with transparency so it was very sensual and femenine.
The inspiration for this jacket was the military costumes of the 18th century in England and France. The big standing collars, the large cuffs and the buttoned lapels. The shoulders were exagerated to create a more sensual and femenine look.
The fabric chosen was an embroidered organza fabric and I tried to use all the salvage of the fabric that had this beautiful edge to creat all the hemline at the hips and at the cuff. I also used the back side of a satine fabric that had a raw silk texture for the collars, the lapel and the removable cuffs.
This project was really a great experience for me, I love working with people and being able to transform their ideas into reality.
